Pretty Things / Handmade Camera Cases

You guys, I am the worst owner of a grown up camera. I have had my DSLR for months now and I still do not own a cute as hell camera case. I briefly looked a little while ago with no luck & have been keeping my eyes open for The One when I go to the shops, but there hasn't been a case that I like enough. Until my weekly Etsy browse when I came across Pessy Lee's delightfully handmade custom DSLR camera cases. The first two to catch my attention were the anchor pattern case in dark grey & the awesome cowboy style as shown above, but the camera case that I am really, really leaning towards is the check pattern custom case. As much as I love a good anchor print - on almost anything - it is one of those contributing design elements that you cannot go overboard without it verging on tacky. And Romy already has a children's play wigwam in that exact cowboy material, so I don't want to give friends and family the wrong impression that I've suddenly peaked an interest in vintage style cowboy print & then receive cowboy inspired gifts (guys, it could happen). If you're in need of a camera case too, then take a look at this clever ladies handmade creations. I will be bumping this item up on my priority list!

Don't Make A Spectacle

1   2   3   4

A couple of weeks ago I started to indulge in the idea of updating my frames as I'm needing to update my prescription pretty soon anyway. The last time I updated my prescription I went from having two pairs of different frames to just one all round pair, so this time around I will be investing in two separate designs. There have been more than a couple of times that I have cursed myself for only having chosen one set of spectacles when they have hindered a choice when buying a new dress, and most definitely after the initial new glasses hype has died down. Plus, its never a bad idea to have a spare set incase of unforeseen incidents which is another reinforcing decision to get two pairs this time. Each morning when I wake up, Romy is shoving my glasses off the bedside onto my face, and her little uncoordinated toddler hands sometimes use too much force and I worry that she's going to break them. I'm really leaning towards the colourful Roxy specs, they're all business at the front and a teenage sleepover on the sides! They would definitely add a quick splash of cute to your face without being OTT. And the Sherry frames is my 'sensible' pick.

Saturday Style / Table Centers

[ source ]
Once upon a time I foolishly thought that table centrepieces weren't that overly important to create alovely space. But in the last year or so I've realised just how essential a finished table top is to create a cohesive vibe between life & decor. Each space is unique and in some cases the one size fits all won't work, so work with your space & find ways to complement it. And if all else fails a nice scented candle in a sturdy jar will also do the trick!

Bargain Replica Gold

I don't know about you but I'm quite partial to the odd replica, especially if it is exactly what I'm looking for at the time, & in the exact colour I'm after with a reasonable price. Which is the exact story for these replica Eames chairs currently at Officeworks. For months Luke & I have left our small dinning area unresolved because we've always had in mind that we would give some roadside wooden chairs a second run with a good coat of yellow paint and some love. But with a busy toddler on the go that task was becoming seemingly more unattainable. Along with Newcastle's ever persistent wet weather and our lack of garage situation, it was just easier to buy some yellow chairs and be done with the whole thing. So that is what we did. Now I have the dinning room chair dilemma solved I can move onto making our laundry space less of an eye sore and more of a Pinterest perfect space (yeah right).

Saturday Style // The Hallway

[ source ]
Hallways are one of the ultimate decorating challenges when making your house into a home. Nail one hook too high, or buy a hallway mat too short and its all over. Well, not completely over, but minor details are heightened in this space because of their minimalist surroundings. There are however a surprising number of great decorating tips & styles you can apply to an often awkward space, & these are my four favourites.
